After severing all ties with Mexico (!), we crossed the US border on Tuesday without so much as being pulled into secondary (high five!). We've been hanging out at my sister Kait's place in San Diego, where we have quietly stolen Scarla the golden retriever away from her daily routine in order to play with us.

We're dealing with the usual amount of America-shock: accidentally overhearing people's inane conversations just because they're in English, being flabbergasted by enormous food portion sizes, and getting chatted up on the sidewalk by strangers who treat us like old pals.

Tomorrow we're off to Coachella to see Arcade Fire and a bunch of other bands for the day!
