A couple of churches later, we stepped into an unassuming, four-story, 15th-century row house to visit the Pharmacy Museum, with its shelves of glass jars and phials, pharmacological curiosities, period furniture, and a whole lot of oversized mortars & pestles. The attic was filled with hanging dried herbs, and the basement had an old forge and medieval-looking wooden laboratory equipment. It was lovely, quiet, novel, and informative; it was fun just wandering through the old building.
We ate lunch in the cozy upstairs room of a small restaurant serving traditional fare. I continued my three-day pierogi streak, and B got a rye soup called żurek that I'm still thinking about.
Our train was delayed but we made it to Ostrava eventually, and trammed then walked to our airbnb, which is hilariously far from downtown, in a high rise way out in the suburbs. The host's only restaurant recommendation was the bowling alley next door, so we grabbed some stuff from the grocery store and enjoyed it.
