poprad to krakow

Our bus out of Poprad took us right back through the mountain towns we'd been to the day before, except this time the clouds were low and dark, sending down rainy sleet and almost completely obscuring the mountains themselves. It made us feel extra grateful for the perfect weather and fantastic views we'd enjoyed on our hike.

The minibus sped and swerved all the way up to Krakow, dodging all of the crazy drivers and courageous pedestrians, and we arrived just after dark. Our airbnb is a remarkable, spacious old apartment with high ceilings, parquet floors, big ancient tiled woodfire heaters that have been converted into electric, and a clunky old iron door key. We'll take some photos before we leave.

We went out for pizza, wandered through the old city a bit, and ran away from all of the early revellers setting off firecrackers to watch some hockey in our large yet comfy living room.

good thing they shortened Pułkownika to Płk
