Halifax and Gaspésie, part 5: Just the 'Fax

It turns out that camping equipment is also useful for improving the bedding situation in a student residence (e.g. inflatable mats on top of hard spring mattresses). B found us a shared kitchen room where we made tea and had some breakfast. We rested our worn-out legs in our room for a while, developing photos, workin', and bloggin', then headed out into a beautiful day in Halifax.

We passed through the Public Gardens, which were filled with flowers and big trees, then checked out the cool new library, with lots of light, interesting staircases, and a rooftop patio. We ordered unexpectedly huge deli subs for lunch downtown, then walked to the touristy waterfront area. We could barely finish half a sandwich each, but somehow still found room for ice cream (L) and fresh mini donuts (B). We saw big ships going by, including one that seemed to be made to lay underwater internet cables!

We visited a cute bookstore cafe on our way back, then gave our feet a rest for the evening. We went to the mall to buy new jeans for L; Vinnie got eliminated on Top Chef because his broth overpowered the flavour of his dumpings, which seemed fair.
