farewell kentucky

it would be difficult to fully describe the rest of our visit to kentucky, but we certainly enjoyed ourselves and were treated with exceptional generosity by Haley's family.

we visited the batting cages. i tried to dress appropriately.

haley mid-swing (the yellow thing is the ball coming towards her)

got some veggies at the Murray farmer's market for dinner

the majestic Murray stadium, where Haley's brother works as a trainer with the football team

Haley and Snap making some delicious dinner at the Hart home (Leah is behind Haley)

Haley's world-famous chocolate pies

taking in the sights at the Calvert drive-in theatre

yesterday we made the long haul from Murray to Chicago. on the way out of Kentucky, we stopped in Paducah, a.k.a. "Quilt City USA". there were a lot of quilts!

historic main street

lots of closed shops, but it was a pretty incredible place to see

we made it all the way up to the windy city and are currently enjoying the comforts of a fancy hotel (courtesy of Snap's uncle!) before heading out to see some museums and an Arcade Fire show.
