get us out of louisiana

We had a nice breakfast with some old friends in New Orleans, but pretty much everything from then on during the last 24 hours has been downhill. New Orleans itself turned out to be pretty smelly and boring, although there were some nice buildings. Then we got stuck in endless traffic on the way out of the city. We planned to stop in a cool little swampy town called Houma, but it turned out to be a weird little sprawl of a place. We got lost several times while trying to find a hotel, the people here drive like maniacs, and the roads, like all other roads we've seen in this state, are full of potholes that could easily take in a Humvee. The Plantation Museum we had planned to see was closed when we got there. We got lost again and then found a cheap place to stay, which turned out to be a musty room right next to the highway with a shower that only works when you plug the faucet with your finger. We decided to go see the new Harry Potter movie to cheer ourselves up, but after a twenty minute drive through the strangely oriented streets of this town, it was sold out.

Today we are going on a bayou swamp boat tour and then we will be doing our best to get out of Louisiana.

  3. I hate to be negative, but I can't help pointing out that you are about to enter one of the largest cesspools of humanity known to man - Texas.

Another great thing about it is that it takes forever to get across it.

As your attorney, I advise you to put the hammer down and get back to civilization as quickly as possible.

    Just kidding :)

  4. The lack of Harry Potter makes this story even more tragic.

  5. We had another failed attempt at a HP viewing today too. Someone in charge up there seriously does NOT want us to see that movie.

At this point I feel like Texas might feel like a relief simply because at least we know we can lower our expectations. Ha.
